An Artificial-Noise-Aided Secure Scheme for Hybrid Parallel PLC/Wireless OFDM Systems

چکیده
We investigate the physical-layer security of indoor hybrid parallel power-line/wireless orthogonal-frequency division-multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems. We propose an artificial-noise (AN) aided scheme to enhance the system’s security in the presence of an eavesdropper by exploiting the decoupled nature of the power-line and wireless communication media. The proposed scheme does not require the instantaneous channel state information of the eavesdropper’s links to be known at the legitimate nodes. In our proposed scheme, the legitimate transmitter (Alice) and the legitimate receiver (Bob) cooperate to secure the hybrid system where an AN signal is shared from Bob to Alice on the link with the lower channel-to-noise ratio (CNR) while the information stream in addition to a noisy-amplified version of the received AN signal is transmitted from Alice to Bob on the link with higher CNR at each OFDM sub-channel. In addition, we investigate the effect of the transmit power levels at both Alice and Bob and the power allocation ratio between the data and AN signals at Alice on the secure throughput. We investigate both single-link eavesdropping attacks, where only one link is exposed to eavesdropping attacks, and twolink eavesdropping attacks, where the two links are exposed to eavesdropping attacks.

Single-Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization for Orthogonal STBC over Frequency-Selective MIMO-PLC channels
In this paper we propose a new space diversity scheme for broadband PLC systems using orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) transmission combined with single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). To apply this diversity technique to PLC channels, we first propose a new technique for combining SC-FDE with OSTBCs applicable to all dispersive multipath channels impaired by impulsive...
متن کاملTransmit Filter and Artificial Noise Design for Secure MIMO-OFDM Systems
Physical layer security has been considered as an important security approach in wireless communications to protect legitimate transmission from passive eavesdroppers. This paper investigates the physical layer security of a wireless multipleinput multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication system in the presence of a multiple-antenna eavesdropper. We ...
متن کاملAn Efficient Scheme for PAPR Reduction of OFDM based on Selected Mapping without Side Information
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has become a promising method for many wireless communication applications. However, one main drawback of OFDM systems is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Selected mapping (SLM) is a well-known technique to decrease the problem of high PAPR in OFDM systems. In this method, transmitter is obliged to send some bits named side informati...

In this paper, a practical wireless transmission scheme is proposed to transmit confidential messages to the desired user securely and precisely by the joint use of multiple tools including artificial noise (AN) projection, phase alignment (PA)/beamforming, and random subcarrier selection (RSCS) based on OFDM, and directional modulation (DM), short for RSCS-OFDM-DM. This RSCS-OFDM-DM scheme pro...
متن کاملHybrid Key pre-distribution scheme for wireless sensor network based on combinatorial design
Key distribution is an important problem in wireless sensor networks where sensor nodesare randomly scattered in adversarial environments.Due to the random deployment of sensors, a list of keys must be pre-distributed to each sensor node before deployment. To establish a secure communication, two nodes must share common key from their key-rings. Otherwise, they can find a key- path in which ens...
